History

       The credit union was established in June 1960 as St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union.  As of September 14th 1967, St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union was officially known as Acushnet Federal Credit Union.

Field of Membership

       Our field of membership included members who either live or work in the towns of Acushnet, Lakeville, Freetown and Rochester.  As of November 7, 2002, our field of membership expanded to include persons who live, work, worship or attend school and businesses and other legal entities located in the city of New Bedford or the towns of Acushnet, Freetown, Lakeville, Rochester and Fairhaven.
